Our premier episode is a look at the mining operations that threaten the habitat of lowland gorillas—and an organization named ECO-CELL that is cleverly working with U.S. zoos to recycle used cellphones. The recycling reduces the demand for coltan, the ore that is vital to a cellphone's electronics. Less demand means less aggressive mining and less of a threat to the gorillas' homeland.
